Topic: Enigmail: crittare senza chiavi

Per inviare una mail crittografata e' sufficiente disporre della chiave pubblica del destinatario.
Quindi in teoria dovrei poter inviare una mail crittografata anche se io non possiedo la mia copia di chiavi asimmetriche.
Con Enigmail questo non risulta possibile.

Qualcuno sa dirmi il perche'?

You need to specify Your Key because Your Secret/Private Key is necessary in order to Encrypt to the Recipient's Public Key. This is what GnuPG uses to 'compare' against when formulating the Encrypted Message. This is the basis of Pubic Key Encryption; the Sender's Private Key Encrypts to the Recipient's Public Key. Now, if You do not have Your Settings configured to also Encrypt to Your Public Key as well, then even You won't be able to Open the Message that You just Sent. It takes 2 halves to make a whole. 1 half Public & 1 half Private to form the complete Message. HTH

Comunque era una domanda interessante, non avevo mai provato a spedire una mail cifrata senza chiavi, ma anch'io avrei avuto il tuo stesso dubbio.
