*__Add missing registry entry:__ Sometimes a Windows registry entry that Java needs may be missing. You can:
**Reinstall Firefox to update the registry (__recommended__), or
**Save this [http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/resources/firebird-jre142-fix.reg |registry patch] to your desktop, and double-click the downloaded file, or right-click and select {PATH()}Merge{PATH}.
* __Workaround if Java is not detected: __ On most systems, the Java plugin files are detected via plugin scanning if the required registry entry exists. However, in some cases, Java is not detected unless the Java {FILE()}np*.dll{FILE} plugin files are copied from the Java application folder {FILE()}bin{FILE} folder.%%%__Note:__ The following steps should be executed only as a last resort, as each time Java is updated the outdated plugin files must be removed and the newer versions copied over. For more information, see [http://www.broadbandreports.com/forum/remark,12924447 |these notes].
##Copy the {FILE()}np*.dll{FILE} files for your version of the JRE from the following location: %%% {FILE()}C:\Program Files\Java\j2re<version>\bin\{FILE}
##Paste them into your Firefox plugins folder, which is typically in the following location: %%% {FILE()}C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins{FILE}
##__Important:__ If copying the Java plugin files to the browser plugins folder does not activate Java after restarting Firefox, remove them from the folder.
