RE: WPU-15806 - Problemi sul sito
Signora / Signore,
La ringraziamo per il Suo messaggio e per l'interesse in merito alle attività del Parlamento europeo.
Ci scusiamo per la risposta in inglese, ma le nostre risorse per il momento sono limitate.
You can find below information regarding our streaming services.
We sincerely regret the inconvenience that you are experiencing. It is important to us that every citizen is able to enjoy equal access to Parliament’s online resources.
The live streaming of the Plenary and Committee meetings online is one of the key instruments for ensuring the transparency of our proceedings.
In fact, the European Parliament is the only institution in the world offering the web streaming service in 23 languages and the live web broadcast of up to 13 simultaneous meetings.
The above explains the complexity of the system that operates Parliament’s web streaming service.
The European Parliament is aware of the shortcomings and is already working towards the implementation of a
“Universal video streaming program” that aims to develop a new streaming platform for the institution.
It will ensure equal access to the live and recorded video material for users of all major operating systems.
That is why, since January 2015, we are publishing the live streaming using new streaming services, making the Live and VOD accessible on most popular configuration, platforms and devices, including Mac computers, iPad and iPhones.
This is still a "work in progress", as the multi-annual program designed to migrate all existing functionalities from the production platform is being executed to guarantee the continuity of service for external and internal access to the streaming of events.
Plenary - VOD (Video On Demand)The VOD is available in two formats: WMV and MP4.
Chrome no longer supports neither Windows Media player, nor Quick Time.
If
Firefox gives the message of non-existent plugin, even though the plugin is present it may not be enabled.
So, you will have to activate it.
You could try with another browser, or download the debate (3 steps to follow as displayed in the screenshot below) and watch the video in your player. If necessary, the language can be changed from the player's menu.
On Windows 10, Edge supports neither Windows Media nor QuickTime player. But, in case of an upgrade (to Windows 10), the 'old' Internet Explorer should still be available and work like before (if not, check the compatibility view settings).
Plenary - Live streamingAt present, the player used for the live streaming is different than the one used for VOD.
For live broadcast we use a multidevice player which may require Flash plugin.
Cordiali saluti,
